Seraphim's: the highest order of angels

According to  the prophet Isaiah, seraphim's are the angels closest to God, also called "God's Ministers".
He also describes them has being only 4, but completely surrounding God's throne. According to his description, these beings have 6 wings each (covering the entire "body"), and are in charge of praising God's glory and singing the music of the spheres.

They also seem to emanate a strong bright light from within, which prevents other beings from seeing their true appearance (this light comes as a direct reflex of their contact with God).

And according to the prophet Isaiah, the role of the seraphim's order is mainly to worship God with pure love, perpetual and endless adoration.
Hence, these beings differ from normal angels due to their high level of compassion, purity, light and love of God.
 

Cherubim's : the second most important order of angels

In terms of hierarchy, the cherubim's are considered the second highest angelic order in heaven, being often symbolised as God's power and mobility.

They are normally portrayed by religious art as "cherubs" or babies, with surreal round faces, reflecting the pure and innocent character of human babies.
But cherubim's are also known to men, by their enormous wisdom, deep knowledge of the universe and inner perfection.

Their role in the universe is to contemplate God, being filled with His holy light, beauty and perfection.
Likewise, they are the guardians of all stars and light in general, reflecting it back to earth and to the universe.

Yet, some people believe, that Satan before turning into an evil being, was one of God's  princes or cherubim's.
Therefore and according to some experts, belonging to this group does not necessarily mean that these beings will not turn against God or misunderstand His vision, goodness and harmony.
 

Thrones: the third order of angels

Thrones are not much different from the Powers, although they are considered as "the lowest group of the first order of angels".

Quite often they are viewed as angels, who help things to materialise in the universe, making a bridge between other angelic orders and God.
They also put into practice God's intents and judgements, being the protectors and rulers of other angels and planets.
Additionally, they also rule over earthly matters regarding world politics and human affairs.

In terms of appearance, some say that these angels shine a multitude of different colours, constantly in mutation and difficult to precise.
 

Virtues

These are often perceived as the angels of nature, ruling over the 5 elements -- water, air, fire, earth and ether.
And although strong beings, they are often referred has having a softer side. They inspire humans to achieve a wide array of accomplishments in areas like arts, science and academic studies, giving us "sparkles" of inspiration and divine wisdom.

They also receive direct orders from the Dominations, executing them closer to nature and the planet.
Finally, they also oversee mankind in general and all groups of people living on earth.
 

Powers

Powers are angels of birth and death, fighters of darkness and evil on earth and in the universe. They fight above all fallen angels, putting an end to their chaos, destruction and ruling.

They are normally described as having a powerful presence, surrounded by bright shiny colours and subtle fumes.
This group of angels, is also accounted by giving direct orders to other angels, making sure that human conscious and our common history is preserved.

And although not too close to mankind, they have particular interest in all sorts of human academic affairs.
They also show special interest for earthly developments in areas such as: religion, philosophy, theology, politics, ideology and history.
And through these areas they can study human development, supervise mankind evolution and distribute power by different nations, groups and people.
 

Principalities

These angels with an appearance resembling rays of light, are often referred as "angels who overlook the creation and destruction of nations or countries".
They are equal to the Virtues, operating metaphysically between heaven and earth. Principalities are also God's executers, ruling over continents, countries, nations and cities.

They are particularly interested in all issues involving human ideology, doctrine and philosophy. And they are often in charge of choosing our rulers in the areas of politics, military affairs, world trade, religion and commerce.
