Is it possible to change one's karma?
Yes. According to Buddhist teachings, karma can always be changed. And since humans are intelligent beings in constant renovation, have a consciousness and power to change the course of their lives, the same happens to human karma.
Therefore, the notion of "karmic punishment or karmic rewarding" for wrong vs. right deeds or actions, should not be perceived as something completely fixed or unchangeable, but rather as something that can and should be in constant mutation.
Some people tend to see karma has something negative one needs to accept and carry. But God does not want people to live endless existences of karmas, but quite the opposite. God wants people to set free of karma by regaining their power. God wants people to reach enlightenment, by dissolving pain and fear. Thus, all goes back to self-acceptance and belief, that both lives, situations and people can be changed for the better.
We are what we think we are
According to Buddhism, we are what we think we are. And what we think we are, shapes all our action, life and karmas. And although revealing much about a person, thoughts are not fixed things, impossible to change or to remove. And as long as there's love, free will and self-acceptance, everything is possible to change and break.
Thus, the need to change thoughts is always an individual process, revealing much about a person needs, and stages of self-development. Reason why, its important to germinate and nourish good or positive thoughts in one's heart and soul e.g. compassion, love, kindness, altruism etc.
Positive thoughts conduct humans to higher stages of self-development, allowing people to grow, achieve harmonious and positive life situations, relationships etc. (the opposite also occurs, and some people prefer to germinate wrong thoughts in their hearts and souls, that will eventually lead people to experience suffering, degrading lives, bad karmas and negative cycles of reincarnation).
The 10 stages or categories of human life
According to Buddhist teachings, there are 10 stages or categories of life and dimensions of existence:Stage of the Buddha;Stage of the self-Buddha; Stage of the Buddha disciple; Stage of the light, angelic or heavenly being;Stage of the human being;Stage of the fighting spirit; - Stage of the evil and negative beast;
- Stage of the evil men.
These stages are interconnected, revealing much about our changeable human nature and self-development level. Both thoughts and self-development (positive or negative), are the main cause for people to move upward or downward in these different stages or categories.
Finally, in life people are both able of creating loving, compassionate thoughts and actions, or the opposite - negative thoughts and depraved actions. © copyright Sharehealing 2005 |
