What are "soul contracts"?

Since birth we are given a life on earth, an assignment or a "soul contract".
And we cannot talk about karmas without mentioning these spiritual agreements.

Through our infinite existences, we are given many different types of lives, many different roles to play, a multitude of bodies and situations to handle. All these aspects are part of a broader view of our lives, very much rooted in "spiritual contracts".
And as there are endless lives, there are also endless contracts.

Ultimately, this leads people to a process or self-awareness and soul evolution, taking place in a dimension called "Bardo".
In this dimension of the spirit, we agree with our spirit masters to incarnate and return to earth with a physical body.
But before incarnation takes place, the spiritual masters inform us about the difficulties of life on earth, and the "weight" of carrying a physical body.

And on the "Bardo", we also agree and "discuss" our life options in what regards: our country of birth, time of birth, family or group of birth, aptitudes, jobs, friends, teachers, partners, children etc.
These soul contracts are made between us, our masters and other groups of souls. These contracts are then registered in the "Akashic Records of the Soul", stating our life mission on earth.
In these records we also state our life intentions and goals to achieve, agreeing as well about our "karmic relationship and love partners".

So, this process of reincarnation allows people to change their karma, by coming to earth in a physical body and reinventing themselves.

Personal reinvention

People can always reinvent themselves. We are not victims of circumstances or of our karmas, but instead we are both creators and destroyers of our happiness, life opportunities, peace of mind and health.
And although there are different types of karmas, people are not totally controlled by them.

Nevertheless, karmas also vary. The ones related to our past and future lives can always be changed and improved.
Yet, our present karma can difficultly be changed, being pre-set or pre-defined before this reincarnation.

Different types of karmas

"Sanchit karma" or past karma (this refers to all lives and actions who took place in previous reincarnations. Although these actions and lives are part of our past, their karmas or "karmic baggage's" can be understood, removed and even dissolved. All depends from one's will of power and level of self-awareness);
"Prarabdha karma" or present karma (relates to our present lives, situation in life, society and family we are born to. This type of karma cannot be changed, since it was already "agreed" prior to our reincarnation);
"Bhavishya karma" or future karma (this type of karma can easily be changed and improved, as long as people are aware about their past and present wrong doings and negative though patterns. Thus, people can actively work to change and improve their future karmas, recurring to reflection, meditation and self-study).

People have the potential of attracting and manifesting life situations and events, creating much of their own reality, life path and karmic development.
And because people differ from each other, the same happens to their karmic baggage's -- "good or bad karma" can also easily be changed!
