Bach Flower Remedies Dr. Bach1886 - 1936 Dr. Edward Bach was born in 1886 in Moseley, England. Since early age, he showed great interest and aptitude for the studying of biology and medicine. So, in 1906 with only 20 y. old he went to study medicine to London, having successfully graduated in bacteriology, pathology and public health by the University College Hospital of London.
During his studies and work as a doctor and house surgeon, he soon realised that people react differently to particular health treatments, diseases and medicines. And what can represent a success in terms of treatment for one person, may represent a failure for another.
He also soon concluded, that the only thing in common between all his patients, was the role played by emotions, both in terms of recovery and dis-ease. And understanding the intricate functioning of human psychology and emotions, became one of Dr. Bach's life long areas of study and focus. Dr. Bach became also aware, that not all doctors respected or felt interest for their patients. Reason why he became a strong apologist, that people need to be treated with respect and consideration by the doctors. Many doctors were more interested in science and focused in treating the disease itself, rather than paying attention to the patient emotional state. Therefore, Dr. Bach soon concluded that emotions play a significant role both in health and in cure.
Being saturated of his city job, he left the London's Harley Street clinic, moving to the countryside. And having a particular interest for plants and nature, Dr. Bach soon started to analyse the importance of flowers in human health and emotions.
In 1934 he moved to Mount Vernon in Oxfordshire, where he studied flowers and located most of his floral remedies. During this period, Dr. Bach felt also an increased interest for homoeopathic remedies, which lead him to an in-depth study of flowers and their unique medicinal properties.
Most of the remedies created by him were tested directly, and certified on the spot. Dr. Bach tested also many remedies himself, concluding that some plants and flowers hold great medicinal properties, able to treat many human ailments. Although Dr. Bach died in 1936 with 50 y. of age, his legacy and studies (into homeopathy and flower remedies) are invaluable for humanity. Bach Flower RemediesThese flower remedies are named after Dr. Edward Bach's name.
Dr. Bach studied extensively both the effect of plants in health, and their unique healing properties. And based on his intuitive skills as a healer, he also identified 38 plants believed to have important medicinal properties to treat humans.
His natural mixes were often made by adding up flowers to distilled water, which would directly be given to his patients. Additionally, some of his remedies, were also made recurring to meditation and the use of solar or lunar energy to empower the water.
Rescue remedies Basically, "rescue remedies" are a mix of five different flower remedies. These are believed to have the capacity of helping people that face difficult life situations (e.g. stress, nervous tension, traumas, grief etc), by boosting the persons immune system (e.g. Impatiens, Cherry Plum, Rock Rose, Clematis and Star of Bethlehem). All rescue remedies work mainly on an emotional level, and are believed to be of great aid to treat traumatic life situations.
Rescue remedies can also be taken neat from the bottles in emergency situations (four drops at a time and as frequently as necessary). It is also commonly believed, that Reiki alone improves the effectiveness of these natural flower remedies.
Thus, Bach flower remedies work directly with Reiki and on the emotional body level, carrying medicinal properties capable of harmonising emotions and feelings. Reiki adds up to these flower remedies the power of Chi, and the flowing of this amazing life energy.
