The chakras
Chakra definition Chakras can be viewed as “wheels”, “vortexes of energy", power centers or a complex network of nerves and sensory organs. These are located in several parts of the human body, specially along the spinal column (both on the back and front of the human or animal body).
Chakras can also be defined, as receivers and transmitters of universal energy, functioning in the body on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level.
And both the Chakras, the Nadis and the Meridians (system of channels in the body), are vital for our general well-being, health and spiritual growth. And all these energy centers work together, helping humans to live a healthier, happier, harmonious and peaceful existence. Additionally, the chakras are also associated with different levels of human self-development and consciousness. They are also associated with particular sounds, electric frequencies, light lengths and colours ex: violet, indigo, sky blue, green, yellow, orange and red.
How many chakras do we have in our bodies? According to the Hindus, humans have 7 major and 21 minor chakras. Interesting enough, for Chinese acupuncturists we have hundreds of thousands of minor body chakras, viewed by many as important healing points. These run through the human body in regular energy patterns and waves, being located both inside and outside the body. Balancing the chakras There are many different techniques known to men, capable of activating and balancing the chakras (or energy levels in the human body). And both Tantric healing, Meditation techniques, Yoga, Acupuncture and Reiki are particularly good to activate and balance the chakras.
In what regards Reiki, most human beings have one, several or all chakras over functioning, unbalanced, malfunctioning or disharmonious. And very rarely we find a person with his/her chakras fully balanced, harmonious or unblocked.
The reason for this relates to the fact, that we are dynamic beings, emotionally "unstable", with shifting though patterns and desires. And the dynamic nature of our emotions and thoughts, often have direct repercussion in our way of living, energy levels and chakra functioning.
In this context, when the chakras are blocked, imbalanced, unclear or dysfunctional this clearly manifest in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual sphere of our bodies. The body organs react accordingly, stimulating health or disease. Therefore, dysfunctional, congested, imbalanced, stagnant, blocked or closed chakras always need energetic treatment and harmonization to be restored back to normality. And Reiki works particularly well in balancing and clearing the chakras, making sure they are uncluttered and the energy can flow naturally.

How do the chakras look like? The Chakras are often described as "lotus flowers" or spirals of energy, located in specific points of the human body. They are also located on top of specific nervous centers or glands, that often rule the functioning of our body. Hence, the chakras can also be perceived, as a sort of long "funnels" receiving and transmitting universal and earthly energy. Where are the chakras located?
The 7 major chakras and 21 minor are both located in the front and back of the body, having an internal and external functioning. The major chakras are located on top of vital glands or organs. The minor chakras are located along the body ex: in the palm of the hands, feet, knees etc. Why do people study the chakras and their functioning? People study the Chakras and their functioning, because they contain vital life information about our physical, mental, spiritual and emotional body. They also contain knowledge about our previous existences and karmas, being centers of consciousness.
In this sense, a particular karma, physical dysfunction or ailment can be easily perceived, seen or felt in a chakra or on an auric level. And disease before manifesting on a physical level, already exists on a chakra or auric level. How do the chakras contribute for our self-development?
All human beings and animals communicate with the universe and "God" via these centers. And when open and fully operational, the chakras allow people to reach higher states of inner development and of consciousness. They also contribute to our spiritual development and awakening, helping humans to build a bridge between their higher self's and God. And once a person has begun to develop the heart, throat, brow and crown chakras the others will follow. The upper chakras are always triggers for the lower ones to develop. What happens when a person begins his/her chakra development journey? Next, you can find some examples of positive effects and signs, resulting from our chakra development process: The person will start putting aside meat and heavy food intake; Other appetites become more controlled and balanced ex: sex, alcohol, lust, etc; The person feels an urge to balance the body weight and eat only when strictly necessary. One will enjoy far more what he/she eats than ever before; The person tends to sleep less and feel more energized; The person may lose interest for traditional religions, while feeling the heart full with love and compassion for all human beings, nature and existence; The person's life vision becomes broader; After developing the higher chakras, the lower ones will follow; Clairvoyance and Clairaudience are often natural and by-products of higher developed beings. This person starts then developing the senses further, learning in the process how to discriminate and perceive life and people far better, not falling into illusions, rushed judgments or misperceptions of reality; The person easily perceives the difference between true vs. false and real vs. unreal; The person stops with all negative addictions ex: smoking, drinking and drugs; etc.
Therefore, it's worth to open and develop one's chakras (specially the Heart and the Head chakras). They will allow a person to have a better perception of life, of other people's intentions and the realization of past, present and future goals, dreams or events. How can people align and clean their chakras? Besides Reiki, there are other methods available to open, align, stimulate, clean and motivate the chakras ex: pendulum dowsing, crystals and gems, Bach flower remedies, herbal baths, aromatherapy, intuitive scanning/ healing, colour/ sound therapy etc. The 7 Major Chakras Crown Chakra or Head Chakra # 7 (Sahasrara) Brow Chakra or Third eye Chakra # 6 (Ajna) Throat Chakra #5 (Vishuddhi) Heart Chakra #4 (Anahata) Solar Plexus Chakra #3 (Manipura) Sacral Chakra # 2 (Swadhistana) Root or Base Chakra #1 ( Muladhara) [ Master Usui ] [ Chakras ] [ Distance healing ] [ Bach remedies ] [ Crystals and Reiki ] [ Faq ] © copyright Sharehealing 2005 |
